The tent has dimensions of 14 feet x 9 feet with a center height of 6.5 feet. The height-related issue we mentioned in the Coleman tent is still a problem here, but the few extra inches that Core gives are helpful.

Is the Core Instant Cabin Tent Well-Made?

The material used is a huge selling point of this tent. It uses 68D polyester fabric with a 600mm hydrostatic rating. The hydrostatic rating defines how good the fabric is at water resistance, and 60mm is more than you could ever need. The company also uses something they call H2O Block Technology. This is their version of WeatherTec, where Core heat seals all the seams to ensure no water creeps into chilling guests inside the tent.

Setting up this tent is a piece of cake. Core kept casual amateur campers in mind while creating this tent. All the poles come attached to the fabric for an easy and convenient setup. Just prop everything up, and the tent will be ready in just a few minutes. The best part is that even though it’s a nine-person tent, a single person can set it up independently. Core fixed the ventilation issue by adding a vast T-door that entirely takes up the entrance side of the tent. Pop open the tent, and you’ll get incredible airflow along with easy access to the inside.

The only reason why Core fell below the Coleman on our list would be the mesh roof. It’s evident that the company wanted better ventilation in their tent and specifically added a mesh for that purpose. However, it’s not suitable for temperature resistance. You won’t be shielded by the temperature in cold weather and will need to get some other equipment to keep yourself safe from the cold. You’ll either need to do a bit of DIY and hang up some thick tarps at the top of the tent, or you’ll need insulated sleeping bags. It’s not a huge downside, but since temperature resistance is something that many high-end tents have, the lack of it is worth mentioning here.

Or, to keep things simple, you can chuck all your luggage on the porch and enjoy uninterrupted sleep.

Wenzel paid a lot of attention to ventilation. The T-style door on its own is pretty impressive in that regard. But, the company went the extra mile and included six mesh windows. If that wasn’t all, there are vents on the roof as well. And, even after all that, Wenzel put an extra mesh vent on the back of the tent to make sure you take full advantage of every single breeze that comes your way.
